Tips and Tricks

Chinese Crisps

A recipe I swiped from my Gramma. They are so, so addictive...I can't make them unless I can get rid of them immediately.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz chocolate chips
  • 6 oz butterscotch chips
  • 3 oz Chow Mein noodles
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Pretty Dang Simple

Pour the chips into a microwave safe bowl, and nuke on high for 1 minute. Stir. Repeat until it's all melty and smooth. Pour in the noodles and nuts, stir, and drop onto waxed paper. Pretty darn simple.

Notes and Hints and Stuff

  • Avoid water
Don't get water in the chocolate while you're melting it, or it will screw up the texture.
  • Really only 3 oz?
This is one of those recipes I do "by feel". A bag of chocolate chips, a bag of butterscotch chips, and a bag of chow mein noodles. I use all the chips, then start adding noodles until it looks like the coating is running scarce.
