One of Todd's stepsisters brought this to the first Christmas Eve dinner I had with the family. Oh my. Good stuff. I puzzled out all the ingredients myself, but figured there had to be more to it...nope. Eat it. It's good.
Ingredients
- 24 oz cottage cheese
- 12 oz container of frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 6 oz box of orange jello
- 11 oz can of mandarin oranges, thoroughly drained
- 20 oz can of pineapple chunks, thoroughly drained
Pretty Dang Simple
Mix the whipped topping and jello together until completely blended,
stir in the cottage cheese, pineapple, and orange slices. Voila. Best if you refrigerate it for a few hours or overnight before serving, as the jello kinda "sets".
Notes and Hints and Stuff
- High Calorie Fruit
Yeah, it's kind of a high-calorie high-sugar way to get your fruit. It
can be made with low or fat-free cottage cheese, low or fat-free whipped
topping, and sugar-free jello. It won't taste as yummy that way, but it
can be done. I'd opt for full-fat whipped topping, fat-free cottage cheese,
and sugar-free jello myself.
