Side Dishes and Other Strangeness
|
|
This is where side dishes, soups, and general food wackiness wind up.
- Bastilla/Pastilla/B'stilla: It's Moroccan.
The first time I was confronted with it, I merely ate it without asking. It
was great. Just eat it.
- Boston Baked Beans:
I didn't like beans when I got this recipe, so I didn't try these. Dad and Todd liked them, though, and ate the whole pot, so I guess they can't be all bad.
- Caramel Sauce: Meant for the gingerbread apple pancakes, but probably good on apples and ice cream.
- Cheesy Garlic Biscuits: Yummy, fast, fluffy!
- Dutch Babies: It's not a baby. And it's
probably not even Dutch. But it's a lovely sweet oven pancake for breakfast!
- Ginger Cinnamon Fruit Dip: Relatively healthy and low fat.
- Hummus: Great alternative to high fat dips and spreads. Made fresh so it's cheap and tasty!
- Latkes (Potato Pancakes): These are
greasy, salty, and wonderful. I recommend them with applesauce. Mmm.
- Latkes II: I really like Latkes.
- Latkes III: I like Latkes a lot.
- Latkes IV: Did I mention I like Latkes?
- Lemon Curd: Lemon topping or filling for pies, cakes, scones, or other lemon-compatible pastries.
- Marinated Mushrooms: Good side dish. Served cold, like revenge.
- Orange Fluff Fruit Salad: Mmm. It's like a
flashback to those 50's and 60's cookbooks, only it tastes good.
- Overnight Oatmeal: Serious morning food.
- Party Salmon Ball: Cheesy salmony spread for crackers.
- Sweet Potato Casserole: This is a sweet treat masquerading as a side dish.
- Turkey Tortilla Soup: Great for handling the holiday Turkey Glut.
- Whipped Sweet Potatoes:
Bored with yamsinacan? Try these!
