Was This Really Necessary?

Keepsakes

Keepsakes After the Wedding What got me going on wanting an artificial bouquet in the first place was tripping across a website for a place that specializes in freeze drying bouquets. After the flowers are dried, they rearrange them on a frame, behind glass, and you have a lovely keepsake. I thought that was the coolest idea since indoor plumbing, so I will be doing something similar to my own.

If you want to freeze dry your bouquet, just do a search online for a place, and call around for prices. Your florist might even know a place that does it.

I’m including a variety of things in my keepsake shadowbox…

  • The ring Todd proposed with (not the engagement ring I wear.)
  • A copy of the invitation.
  • One of the Favor Bags.
  • The bouquet.
  • My tiara (when will I wear a tiara again?)
  • My sixpence.

The box will be a tabletop version, since my walls are full and I’ll have a hard time putting my bouquet behind glass anyway.

I’m also adding some things to the Guest Book/Photo Album/Scrapbook, such as any newspaper clippings, a copy of the “announcement” I posted in my LiveJournal and the email announcement I sent out, and maybe a few other tidbits. I used to keep a scrapbook as a teenager, seems like as good a reason as any to resurrect the practice, at least temporarily. I should remember to stick one of the chocolate wrappers in it. We’re not doing printed napkins (I’ve never understood that, really), so I won’t have those to use. I might throw in a leaf out of one of the cornucopias, though.
